BDR signs up Viatel to resell data services
Viatel, a pan-European business communications provider, is now partnering with BDR Networks, who currently services the SME sector with voice and mobile solutions.BDR will resell Viatels broad portfolio of data services, which will greatly enhance their ability to meet the needs of their chosen market.
Viatels extensive experience and back office infrastructure will enableBDR to provide a wide range of data services without incurring the cost of developing the services internally.BDR will use this partnership with Viatel to continuously enhance the portfolio and grow their revenue line, which is particularly important as the market for traditional voice services starts to decline.
BDRis moving into a relatively new area with Viatels services. This meant that it required a partner that could provide in-depth data networking expertise, as well as sales and operational support. Viatel was chosen over a number of other potential partners due to its clear indirect channel strategy, in-depth data expertise and broad portfolio. One additional benefit was the ability to outsource first line support; thus saving huge investments in trained support staff. Furthermore, Viatels range of robust services meant thatBDR could give its customers greater choice and flexibility.
The voice market, particularly amongst SMEs, is becoming more competitive and in order to keep up with this we needed to be able to offer a complete portfolio of services. The solutions from Viatel will really help increase data revenues and stay ahead of the competition, said Bahman Rahimi, Director, BDR. Viatels channel programmes, coupled with the fact that they are able to handle first line support took away a lot of the risk for us in expanding into the data services market. Essentially, Viatel offered us a complete package that we could take to customers. As a result we have already seen revenue generated through the sales of services such as DSL, IP VPNs and MPLS networks.
In the futureBDR also plans to offer Viatels VoIP services as customers start to move from traditional voice networks to more cost effective next generation offerings.
With our services,BDR has been able to extend its portfolio and offer a broader range of services to its customers. The communications market has, and continues to, change quickly and we are looking forward to working with Symphony to ensure that they take advantage of these market changes, said Sue Davidson, Director, Viatel.
